Religious Tourism and Theology

Our member of the Board, Msc. Naida Huskanovic, will present the paper about religious objects as tourist attractions at the international conference on religious tourism and theology to be held on 25-26 September 2019 in Sarajevo.

Naida holds Master of Social Sciences in Religious Studies from the University of Sarajevo in cooperation with Arizona State University and the University of Oslo. In addition, Naida completed the business school in cultural tourism in Italy.

In this occasion, she will raise the following questions:

Is there religious sensitivity when we talk about religious tourism?

How close or far we are from understanding one's religious identity?

What should be the role of tourist guides once in the sacral place?

And what should be the role of a visitor/tourist?

Is there necessity for certain knowledge before approaching the sacral objects?

Finally, is there potential in religious tourism to be a factor for peace and prosperity?
